REQUIREMENT
A local Housing group approached Anchor Systems (International) Ltd to help with a number of security issues they were challenged with for a local private housing area. The group owned a number of houses within a secluded area of Crawley. The garages associated with the houses were also grouped adjacent to the housing estate in quite a secluded area. There is no designated street lighting in this area and no plans for the local authority to provide this simple requirement. At night particularly in winter when the nights are longer and the overhanging trees create an ominous feel to the local area, the experience to get to and from the garages can be a distressing process for local residents.
SOLUTION
Our representatives met with the local housing group to understand the challenges that they were facing. Given the issues, we developed with another local company Hollybrook Power Supplies, the simple but effective security lighting system. The Security lighting systems are mounted on our Patented Anchor Post systems and utilise a 30wp Monocrystalline Solar module that can charge a 7amp rechargeable battery. We have also built into this technology a motion sensor device that can be set to activate the light for up to 8 minutes at a time.
Expectation is that light activation would be set to 2 minute activation intervals and this would reasonably allow for between 20-50 activations in an evening period which should be more than enough.
The light element utilises 20 watt LED technology which has an average life of 35,000 hours. Maintenance of the Anchor Light System should be negligible for up to 5 years.
Silver Contracting were engaged to install the security light on behalf of the Neighbourhood Watch Group. The whole process of installation of a 1.5m Anchor Post and mounting the solar column was completed in 45 minutes from start to finish. This is because beyond the installation of the column there are no external electrical connections from the Anchor Light System. The Anchor Light Solution is completely self-sufficient. We have shown the Anchor Light Systems bolted connection above ground on top of the Anchor Post to provide an understanding of the connection. This connection would normally be below ground.
