We’ve Won The King’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2026

We’re incredibly proud to share that Anchor Systems has been awarded The King’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2026.

This is one of the highest honours a UK business can receive, and to be recognised for something we’ve developed and delivered as a team makes it even more meaningful.

Why This Matters to Us

This award recognises our Anchor foundation system — including the Anchor Screw and Anchor Post — and the impact it’s having across the rail industry.

When we first started developing this system, the goal was simple:

  • Find a better alternative to concrete foundations.

What we saw on site didn’t make sense. Foundations that take minutes to design were taking days to install. They were disruptive, labour-intensive, and carbon heavy — especially in live rail environments. We knew there had to be a better way.

What We Changed

Our solution replaces concrete entirely with a steel foundation that can be installed in minutes using handheld equipment — no excavation, no curing time, and immediate load-bearing capacity.

It sounds simple now, but getting there took years of development, testing, and working closely with teams on the ground.

What started as a response to a challenge from Transport for London has since grown into something much bigger.

Today, the system has been used in over 120,000 installations across London Underground, with growing adoption across Network Rail projects.

The Impact It’s Had

One of the reasons this award means so much is because of the real-world impact behind it.

Across projects, the system has consistently delivered:

  • Faster installation times
  • Safer working conditions
  • Significant reductions in embodied carbon

It’s not just about doing things quicker — it’s about doing them better, with less disruption to the network, less impact on the workforce, and less impact on the environment.

Looking Ahead

While this is a big milestone, it’s not the end point.

We’re continuing to develop the system, expand its applications, and support more projects across the rail network and beyond.

For us, this award isn’t just about what we’ve done — it’s about where we’re going next.
